Surgery

A little bit of Amanda and Nora's past:

Even tough Amanda has it on her family, she is the only one who wasn't born with supernatural powers. She's been living with her sister Adrianne in a hidden city for unnatural beings for an year. She never liked her sister, mostly because Adrianne is the family's pride. One of the best Supernatural MMA Fighters in the world, but not a very good sister. Adrianne never really pays attention on Amanda.

The pressure of being the "weak one" everywhere she goes drives the girl desperate. One day she goes to the South part of the city to see a famous witch: Nora Agrata, to teach her the ways of black magic. In little time, Amanda shows herself to be great with sorcery. It brings her closer to Nora and the Coven, the SBDM (South Bay Dragon Mafia). Amanda quickly finds in the SBDM a new family, where no one really cares if she is powerful or not, as long as she cooperates. She became very close to Nora and Derrick, but more and more apart from her sister, Adrienne. 

One day, at home, Amanda was reading a borrowed alchemy book from Nora when she found a spell that could give her the powers she always wanted. The temptation of finally bringing pride for her parents and overcoming her sister blinds her from the dangerous possible outcomes of the spell. She quickly gets the ingredients and perform everything in secret. But something goes wrong. Her soul is ripped out of the body for several days until Adrianne finds her, dead, in the attic. Adrianne calls Nora in tears and the witch calmly says she'll be right over. 

Then Nora performs the surgery. Trying to attach what's left of Amanda's soul into her body. She uses strong spells and pierce little seals to keep the body and soul together. However, Amanda was not the same. The emotional girl they knew became cold and empty. The only thing left was indifference. But it doesn't seem to bother Adrianne. A cold sister is better than a dead sister. Nora blames herself. Now she tries her best to recover Amanda's emotions, but that's not easy.
